Talk therapy may shield At-Risk teens from diabetes

NCT ID NCT03263351

Summary

This study tested whether a 6-week group therapy program for depression could improve the body's response to insulin and help prevent type 2 diabetes in at-risk teenage girls. Researchers compared the therapy group to a health education group and followed 147 participants for one year. The goal was to see if reducing depressive symptoms could lower diabetes risk by improving health behaviors and stress hormones.
