Could a natural steroid ease depression in HIV patients?

Summary

This study tests whether a supplement called pregnenolone can help reduce depression in people living with HIV. Researchers will give either pregnenolone or a placebo pill to 120 adults with HIV and depression, while they continue their usual antidepressant medications. Brain scans and mood questionnaires will measure changes in brain chemistry and depressive symptoms over the study period.
