First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding deep breathing exercises to core stability exercises can improve lung function and physical ability in people with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). AS is a type of arthritis that mainly affects the spine, causing pain, stiffness, and sometimes trouble breathing. The study will enroll 30 adults aged 20 to 45 with stable AS. Participants will be randomly assigned to do either core exercises alone or core exercises plus deep breathing, and researchers will measure changes in lung capacity and walking distance.
