Heart rhythm hope: common diabetes drug tested to stop AFib recurrence

Summary
This study tests whether the drug dapagliflozin, typically used for diabetes, can reduce the return of atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) after a procedure called cardioversion. About 1600 adults with AFib will take either dapagliflozin or no extra drug for up to 56 days. Researchers will track heart rhythms using a handheld device to see if the drug helps keep the heart in normal rhythm.
