New Cloud-Based system could transform diabetes care in hospitals

NCT ID NCT05307237

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) that sends real-time blood sugar data to a cloud-based dashboard, allowing a remote team to manage high-risk type 2 diabetes patients in the hospital. Over 500 participants were assigned to either the active CGM system or usual care with blinded monitoring. The goal was to improve time in safe blood sugar range and reduce hospital infections.
