Summary
This study looked at 30 patients on breathing machines to see if the pressure in the tube's cuff (the balloon that holds the tube in place) can show how hard they are working to breathe. Normally, doctors use a thin tube down the esophagus to measure this, which is uncomfortable. The goal was to find a simpler, less invasive way to monitor breathing effort and improve care in the ICU.
