Routine CT scan may predict who benefits from walking therapy for leg artery disease
NCT ID NCT07433309
First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a CT scan already done for routine care can predict which patients with leg artery disease will improve with supervised exercise. About 40% of patients don't get enough benefit from exercise and need a procedure to open blocked arteries. Researchers will measure muscle quality and belly fat from the CT scan to see if these factors can identify non-responders early. The goal is to help doctors choose the right treatment for each patient without extra tests.
