Frozen out: 20-year review of cryotherapy for rare eye tumors
NCT ID NCT04458935
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study reviews medical records from the past 20 years to see how well a freezing treatment called trans-scleral cryotherapy works for retinal hemangioblastoma, a rare eye tumor often linked to von Hippel-Lindau disease. Researchers will look at outcomes like tumor control and vision changes in 25 people treated at the NIH. No new treatments or visits are involved—only existing data is analyzed.
