First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at 320 people with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat that comes and goes). Researchers compared two cryoballoon ablation techniques: one that isolates only the pulmonary veins and another that also targets the back wall of the heart's left atrium. The goal was to see which method better prevents the heartbeat problem from returning over more than three years.
