Could freezing breast cancer replace the knife? major trial launches
NCT ID NCT07483996
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares freezing breast tumors (cryoablation) to standard surgery (lumpectomy) in women over 60 with early-stage, hormone-positive breast cancer. The goal is to see if cryoablation can control the disease just as well, with fewer side effects. About 938 participants will be followed for 5 years to check for cancer return.
