Gut antibody test could shed light on Crohn's

NCT ID NCT00769236

First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether measuring certain antibodies (ASCA) from gut biopsies can help understand Crohn's disease better than standard blood tests. Researchers compared 80 people with Crohn's, 40 with ulcerative colitis, and 40 without inflammatory bowel disease. The goal was to learn more about the disease, not to test a new treatment.
