Could a cream made from breast milk prevent NICU stays for low blood sugar babies?

NCT ID NCT07217483

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a cream made from human milk fat to treat low blood sugar in newborns. About 75 babies at risk for low blood sugar will receive the cream instead of standard dextrose gel. The goal is to see if the cream can raise and keep blood sugar stable, reducing the need for intensive care. Parents and nurses will also rate how easy and acceptable the cream is to use.
