Scientists track COVID's hidden damage in ICU patients

NCT ID NCT04316884

Summary

This study aimed to understand how COVID-19 causes organ damage in seriously ill patients. Researchers followed 380 intensive care patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, collecting daily blood and urine samples. They tracked these biomarkers alongside organ function to learn what signals predict worse outcomes like kidney failure or death.
