Blood test may spot cancer return before symptoms appear

NCT ID NCT05210283

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a blood test that finds tiny bits of tumor DNA (called ctDNA) can predict if colorectal cancer will return after surgery. About 1,000 people with stage II or III colorectal cancer who had their tumor removed will be followed for up to 7 years. The goal is to see if a positive ctDNA test is linked to cancer coming back, which could help doctors catch recurrence earlier.
