Can a smart monitor reduce surgery stress? new trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07571473
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a device called the CoreSys monitor can help reduce the body's stress response during abdominal hysterectomy. Thirty women having the surgery will be randomly assigned to standard anesthesia or anesthesia guided by the monitor. Researchers will measure stress-related substances in the blood to see if the monitor makes a difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
propofol and remifentanil (anesthetic drugs) plus CoreSys monitor (device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that using a special monitor during surgery helps reduce stress on the body, potentially leading to better recovery after hysterectomy.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-phase study with only 30 patients. It is not designed to prove long-term benefits, and the results may not apply to other surgeries or patients.
