Cord blood transplant trial offers hope for tough blood cancers

NCT ID NCT03016806

Summary

This study is observing how well umbilical cord blood stem cells from unrelated donors work for patients with serious blood cancers and disorders. Researchers will track how quickly patients' blood counts recover, how often the transplant fails, and the rates of disease relapse and a common complication called graft-versus-host disease. The goal is to better understand the outcomes of this transplant approach for patients who lack a perfectly matched donor.
