Summary

This study tested whether vapendavir, an experimental antiviral drug, could reduce lower respiratory symptoms (like cough, wheezing, and shortness of breath) in 52 adults with COPD who were deliberately exposed to a common cold virus (rhinovirus). The goal was to see if the drug could prevent or lessen the severity of COPD flare-ups triggered by the virus. The trial has been completed, and the results will show how well vapendavir worked compared to a placebo.
