COPD study aims to unlock clues behind immune cell drop during severe attacks

NCT ID NCT06188065

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at why some people hospitalized for a severe COPD flare-up have low levels of a certain white blood cell (eosinophils) and how long it takes for those levels to return to normal. Researchers will follow 200 patients to identify factors linked to this condition and track recovery. The goal is to better understand the body's response during severe COPD episodes, not to test a new treatment.
