New study explores less drastic option for deadly pregnancy disorder

This pilot study tests whether leaving the placenta in place after delivery (conservative management) is a safe and effective alternative to hysterectomy for women with placenta accreta spectrum, a condition where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall. Four participants were enrolled to see if a larger trial is feasible. The goal is to provide better data for shared decision-making and reduce the need for major surgery.
