New scan aims to solve Post-Stroke imaging puzzle
NCT ID NCT03869567
First seen Jun 16, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 16, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether a cone beam CT scan, taken right after a stroke procedure (thrombectomy), can tell the difference between a brain bleed and harmless contrast dye that sometimes leaks into the brain. The study planned to enroll 5 adults who had a stroke and compare the cone beam CT results with a standard dual-energy CT scan. The goal was to improve how doctors identify complications after stroke treatment.
