Tooth-Colored fillings face off: which works best for cavities?

NCT ID NCT06667271

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested two types of tooth-colored fillings for cavities in back teeth: direct composite (placed directly in the tooth) and indirect composite (made in a lab and then cemented in). 90 adults with cavities received one of the two fillings. Researchers checked how well the fillings held up using standard dental criteria. The goal was to see which option works better for larger cavities.
