Which works better for bladder leaks: e-consult or nurse co-management?
NCT ID NCT06040645
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two methods of delivering care for urinary incontinence in primary care settings. In one arm, primary care doctors get electronic specialist advice (e-consult). In the other, a nurse practitioner (APP) provides education and self-management coaching via telemedicine. The trial enrolls 1200 women and measures how well doctors follow evidence-based guidelines and how patients' symptoms improve.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show which care model works better for treating urinary incontinence in primary care, leading to improved patient outcomes and more efficient use of specialists.
What could go wrong
This is a comparative effectiveness study, not a test of a new drug or device. Results may not apply to all healthcare settings or patient populations.
