NCT ID NCT06631976
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares four non-surgical treatments for a common shoulder tendon injury (supraspinatus tear) that causes pain and sleep problems. The treatments include a steroid injection, a nerve block, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and rehabilitation. Researchers will track pain, shoulder function, and sleep quality over six months in 40 adults aged 40-75. The goal is to find which approach works best and fastest.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
methylprednisolone acetate, lidocaine, platelet-rich plasma (PRP)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could identify the best non-surgical treatment to relieve shoulder pain and improve sleep quality for people with rotator cuff injuries.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatments are well-known, but individual responses can vary.
