First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study compares two common steroids, methylprednisolone and dexamethasone, to see which one better reduces brain swelling and has fewer side effects in patients with brain metastases undergoing radiation therapy. About 400 adults aged 18-75 with brain tumors and swelling will be randomly assigned to one of the two drugs, taken daily until radiation ends and then tapered off. The goal is to improve patients' daily function and quality of life while minimizing hormone-related side effects.
