NCT ID NCT07526311
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two surgical techniques to reduce blood loss during open fibroid removal. Forty women with symptomatic uterine fibroids will be randomly assigned to either bilateral uterine artery ligation or a pericervical mechanical tourniquet. The goal is to see which method causes less bleeding and fewer complications.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If one technique proves better, it could help surgeons reduce bleeding during fibroid removal, making the surgery safer.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Both techniques are surgical procedures with inherent risks like infection or injury.
