Summary

This study tested a personalized, play-based program for 2-3 year olds with autism. The program, called JASPER, was delivered by trained teaching assistants in community preschools. The goal was to see if adjusting the type and amount of play therapy based on each child's progress could improve their social communication and language skills. 199 children took part, and the study measured changes in how often they used words and gestures to communicate.
