New combo aims to tackle Hard-to-Treat colorectal cancer

NCT ID NCT07229872

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early-phase trial tests a combination of two drugs—aipalolitovorelizumab and fruquintinib—in 18 people with advanced colorectal cancer that has not responded to at least two prior treatments. The goal is to see if the combo can shrink tumors or slow the disease. Participants will receive the drugs in 3-week cycles until the cancer progresses or side effects become too severe.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

aipalolitovorelizumab (QL1706) and fruquintinib

What this could lead to

If this combination works, it could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced colorectal cancer who have run out of standard therapies.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early-phase trial with only 18 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drugs may cause side effects or fail to shrink tumors.
