First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests if a nebulized antibiotic (colistimethate sodium) can prevent pneumonia in children who need a breathing machine. About 400 children aged 1 month to 14 years will receive either the drug or a placebo twice daily for up to 7 days. The goal is to see if the treatment reduces cases of ventilator-associated pneumonia.
