Can a tablet game sharpen aging minds during breast cancer treatment?
NCT ID NCT04261153
First seen Jul 02, 2026 · Last updated Jul 02, 2026
Summary
This study explores whether a tablet-based cognitive stimulation program called HAPPYNeuron® is practical for breast cancer patients aged 70 and older. Cancer treatments, especially chemotherapy, can cause memory and thinking problems, and older patients may be at higher risk. The study will have participants complete three 20-minute sessions on a tablet to see if they can and will use the software, aiming to find a way to help reduce cognitive side effects and improve quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- HAPPYNeuron® cognitive stimulation software
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could point toward a practical, non-drug way to help older breast cancer patients maintain memory and thinking skills during cancer treatment.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small feasibility study, so it cannot prove the software improves cognition. Older patients may find tablet use difficult, and the program may not be widely adopted.
