Simple breath test may predict if therapy will fail for anxiety
NCT ID NCT05467683
Summary
This study aims to find out if a person's reaction to a safe, brief carbon dioxide (CO2) breathing test can predict whether they will not respond to a common and effective talk therapy called exposure therapy. Researchers will give the test to 600 adults with conditions like anxiety, OCD, or PTSD before they start therapy. The goal is to create a tool to help doctors and patients choose the best treatment from the start, avoiding ineffective approaches.
