Can an old allergy drug heal MS brain lesions?

NCT ID NCT06065670

First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether clemastine fumarate, an allergy medication, can repair damaged nerve insulation (myelin) in people with multiple sclerosis. About 44 adults with relapsing-remitting MS will receive either the drug or a placebo, and advanced MRI scans will measure changes in brain lesions over 6 months. The goal is to see if clemastine can help restore myelin after acute inflammatory attacks.
