First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study checked how many Brazilian adults with risk factors like diabetes or high blood pressure have undiagnosed chronic kidney disease (CKD). Over 8,000 people were tested with a simple finger-stick device that measures creatinine. Those with abnormal results were referred for a standard lab test and a kidney specialist visit. The goal was to estimate CKD rates across Brazil and see if they vary by region.
