Body clock study reveals when we lose track of time

Summary

This study looks at how your internal body clock changes the way you perceive time, think, and feel when you stay awake for 36 hours. Thirty healthy adults aged 23 to 45 will stay in a controlled lab, awake the whole time, with constant light, posture, food, and activity. Every two hours, they will complete short tests on time perception, reaction time, and mood, and provide saliva samples to measure melatonin. The goal is to find out when during the day-night cycle people are most prone to time distortions and reduced alertness, which could help improve shift work schedules.
