Night shift Workers' gums under the microscope: new study links sleep disruption to gum inflammation

NCT ID NCT07592052

First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at how having a disrupted sleep schedule, like working night shifts, might affect gum health. Researchers will measure specific clock proteins and immune markers in the gum fluid of 116 people, comparing those with normal sleep to those with disrupted sleep, and those with healthy gums to those with gingivitis. The goal is to understand the connection between your body's internal clock and gum inflammation.
