Massage at the right time of day may boost athlete brain function

NCT ID NCT07367607

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at how different types of massage—manual, vibration, and percussion—affect brain activity in 12 male taekwondo athletes when given at different times of day. The athletes were all healthy black belts with years of training. Researchers used EEG to measure brain waves, aiming to see if the timing of massage changes its effects on the nervous system. The goal is to better understand how recovery techniques can be optimized for performance.
