New study aims to predict chronic pain in veterans after brain injury

Summary
This study follows 100 adults who have had a combat-related traumatic brain injury (TBI) to learn why some develop long-term chronic pain. Participants join within 14 days of injury and are tracked for 6 months. Researchers will check pain levels, mental health, and physical factors to create a tool that predicts who is at risk for chronic pain.
