New injection aims to fix choline deficiency in intestinal failure patients
NCT ID NCT06910943
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests an injectable form of choline, a nutrient often missing in people with intestinal failure who rely on IV nutrition. The goal is to see if it can safely raise choline levels and reduce liver injury. About 129 adolescents and adults will receive either a low or high dose of choline or a placebo over several weeks, with long-term follow-up.
