Can a probiotic gel help women clear HPV and early cervical lesions?
NCT ID NCT06582004
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a natural vaginal gel called CH2 can help women with mild cervical changes (CIN1) and high-risk HPV clear the infection and heal faster. Fifty women will use either the gel or a placebo twice a week for 24 weeks. Researchers will track Pap smear results and HPV tests every 3 months to see if the gel improves regression rates.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
CH2 vaginal gel (a dietary supplement made from water, probiotic glycerol, and plant extracts)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a natural option to help the body clear early cervical changes and HPV faster, reducing the need for more invasive procedures.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 50 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The gel is a supplement, not a proven treatment, and many CIN1 cases resolve on their own anyway.
