New ultrasound tech may predict kidney recovery after cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07294859

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether special ultrasound scans (CEUS and super-resolution imaging) can predict how well the kidneys will work after partial or complete kidney removal for cancer. About 285 adults will get these scans before and after surgery, plus blood and urine tests, and be followed for a year. The goal is to see if these images can forecast long-term kidney function and early signs of kidney injury.
