C-section timing may impact newborn health, study finds

NCT ID NCT07321041

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at 100 pregnant women having planned C-sections to see if the time it takes to deliver the baby affects the baby's cord blood pH and base excess—measures of newborn health. Researchers compared general and spinal anesthesia to see if the type of anesthesia changes this relationship. The goal is to better understand how delivery timing might influence newborn well-being.
