Neck traction angles may boost nerve relief in pinched nerve patients
NCT ID NCT07366983
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will test whether applying neck traction at different angles, combined with gentle nerve mobilization exercises, can reduce pain and improve function in people with cervical radiculopathy (a pinched nerve in the neck). Forty-five adults aged 30 to 45 with confirmed nerve root issues will receive the traction using a special decompression device along with shoulder and arm exercises. Researchers will measure pain levels, nerve function, and neck disability over time to see which angle works best.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
cervical traction device (Triton decompression system) and neural mobilization exercises
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a better way to manage neck pain and nerve symptoms without surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 45 people, so results may not apply widely. The treatments are physical, so risks are low but include possible discomfort or temporary nerve irritation.
