Double antibiotic attack: could a Two-Drug combo beat severe infections faster?

NCT ID NCT07063095

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding a second antibiotic (fosfomycin) to the standard antibiotic (ceftazidime) helps people with severe gram-negative infections recover faster. About 100 hospitalized adults will be randomly assigned to get either the combo or the standard drug plus a placebo. Researchers will measure how quickly signs of infection improve and check for side effects.
