First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether adding cediranib to olaparib works better than olaparib alone for men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. Olaparib blocks DNA repair in cancer cells, while cediranib stops tumor blood vessel growth. The study involves 90 participants and measures how long the cancer stays controlled.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Cediranib and olaparib
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could offer a new treatment option for men with advanced prostate cancer that has stopped responding to hormone therapy.
What could go wrong
This is a mid-stage trial with only 90 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The combination may cause more side effects than olaparib alone.
