First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests if a brief group therapy program (cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT) can help men in prison quit smoking. Researchers will compare CBT to a health education class and a waitlist group. About 202 men will participate, and their smoking status will be checked with breath tests at 1 and 3 months after the program.
