Blood test markers may predict pancreatitis outcomes
NCT ID NCT07233551
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will look at whether certain markers from a standard complete blood count (CBC) can help doctors assess how severe acute pancreatitis is and predict patient outcomes. Researchers will analyze data from 100 adult patients treated for acute pancreatitis. The goal is to see if these simple, inexpensive blood test indices can reliably indicate disease severity.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to a simple, inexpensive way to predict how severe a case of acute pancreatitis is and guide treatment decisions.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It only looks at existing blood test results and cannot prove cause and effect. The findings may not apply to all patients.
