First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests a new treatment called CART19 for teens and young adults (ages 12-29) with severe lupus that hasn't responded to standard therapies. The treatment uses a patient's own immune cells, modified to target and calm the overactive immune system causing lupus. The goal is to control the disease and allow patients to stop taking steroids, though ongoing monitoring is needed.
