NCT ID NCT07004673

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special PET/MR scan can better identify unstable plaque in the carotid artery that may cause a stroke. About 100 adults with carotid plaque will receive two types of PET tracers along with MRI to measure inflammation and fibrosis in the plaque. Researchers will track stroke and other outcomes for up to 12 months to see if the scan can predict who is at highest risk.
