First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study explores a new blood test that may detect active heart inflammation in people with sarcoidosis, a disease that can cause serious heart problems. Researchers will measure DNA fragments released from damaged heart cells in 120 participants, including healthy volunteers and those with sarcoidosis or heart attacks. If successful, this test could help doctors diagnose and monitor heart involvement without the need for radiation-heavy scans.
