New CAR-T therapy aims to tackle Hard-to-Treat hodgkin lymphoma
NCT ID NCT06090864
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a new type of immunotherapy called CAR-T cells, which are specially engineered to recognize and attack CD30, a protein found on Hodgkin lymphoma cells. The trial enrolls up to 31 adults whose cancer has returned or not responded to standard treatments. Participants receive chemotherapy to prepare their immune system, then an infusion of the modified cells. The goal is to find a safe dose and see if it can control the disease.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ATLCAR.CD30.CCR4 cells (a type of CAR-T cell therapy that targets CD30 on cancer cells)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new treatment option for patients with Hodgkin lymphoma that has returned or not responded to standard therapies, potentially improving survival without the severe long-term side effects of current treatments.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with only 31 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. CAR-T therapy can cause serious side effects like cytokine release syndrome and neurological problems, and the treatment may not work for everyone.
