First-in-Human trial tests 'Living Drug' against deadly brain cancers

NCT ID NCT04661384

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety of a new cell therapy for adults with aggressive brain cancers that have spread to the lining of the brain and spinal cord. Doctors take a patient's own immune cells, genetically modify them in a lab to recognize and attack cancer cells, and then infuse them back into the fluid around the brain. The main goal is to see if this treatment is safe and to look for early signs that it might help control these difficult-to-treat cancers.
